The Friends of Mattie Freeland Park exists to create a safe gathering space in the English Avenue neighborhood that is inclusive and celebrates the history and diversity of the community.
Mattie Freeland Park was started in 2008 by a group of neighbors in the English Avenue community of Atlanta, Ga. The park was the vision of Ms. Mattie Freeland, who was an example of compassion and an inspiration to all who knew her. The park serves as an enduring legacy of her love and concern for her neighbors and her community.
